Writing starts with being a reader first. And I have been obsessed with romance books since I was in high school. It laid the foundation for eventually writing.

My path wasn’t a straight arrow. That’s because publishing isn’t a one-size-fits all. I started out submitting stories to small presses and took a break from pursuing traditional publishing to explore platform writing. It’s more important to ask yourself, “What are my publishing goals?” And, “Which path is right for me?”

Nothing in this industry happens overnight. Be open to continually learning about craft and improving story elements. Writing can also be a “quiet” practice, so take time to connect with other writers.
